Accounting and Finance subject group welcomes Prof Ranko Jelic
The Accounting and Finance subject group is delighted to announce the appointment of Prof Ranko Jelic as a new Professor in Finance, starting in December 2014.
Professor Jelic has been a finance academic for more than twenty years, researching and lecturing at several universities in the UK (University of Birmingham, University of Hull, London School of Economics) and internationally (EDHEC Business School Nice, University of Belgrade).
Head of the Department of Business and Management, Prof Carol Alexander, said:
“Prof Ranko Jelic brings a welcome breadth of experience to our rapidly-expanding Accounting and Finance group. Given his reputation for being a wonderful collaborator, his research funding knowledge (and his tennis-playing expertise) we feel rather privileged to have him as a colleague.”
Ranko publishes widely on a broad range of topics, including: management buyouts; initial public offerings; corporate bonds; asset swap spreads; exchange traded funds. For the last five years he has been ranked among top 3% authors (by total citations) on the Social Sciences Research Network (SSRN), with several papers featuring on the SSRN’s top ten lists in relevant research areas.
He is recipient of scholarships and personal research grants from numerous organisations such as the World Bank (IBRD), Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), UK Institute for Quantitative Investment Research (INQUIRE) and the African Development Bank (ADB).
