Sussex Business and Management subjects climb 2016 Guardian league tables

Subject areas within the Department of Business and Management have risen consistently across their respective rankings in the Guardian's 2016 university league tables, in keeping with Sussex's ascent to 19th place overall.

Sussex has made considerable gains in its positions for the Accounting & Finance and Business, Management & Marketing subject areas in this year’s ranking, in both cases placing us ahead of several Russell Group institutions. This success is particularly significant for such a young department, which until very recently had no graduate level employment to report owing to only having been established in 2009.

Prof Steven McGuire, Head of the School of Business, Management and Economics, thanked those involved in this success:

“The Guardian drew attention to Sussex's improved performance in graduate employability, and I want to offer a special thanks to colleagues who have worked hard to design and implement improvements in this area. The Department of Business and Management is competing in a very crowded market, and our ranking places us above a number of Russell Group institutions.

"Rankings are influential and we can expect a boost to UG applications as a result of this performance. Congratulations everyone."
