Sussex entrepreneurship researchers awarded grant by CEPR and DFID

Dr Mirela Xheneti (Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Small Business), Dr Adrian Madden (formerly of the Department of Business and Management, now at Greenwich University) and Dr Shova Thapa Karki (Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Sustainability) have been awarded a research grant from the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the Department for International Development (DFID) as part of the two organisations' joint research initiative, the Private Sector Development in Low Income Countries Scheme (PEDL).
The team will be working on a synthesis review - titled ‘The value of formalization for women entrepreneurs in developing contexts: A review and research agenda’ - which will provide a better understanding of the theoretical and policy issues in relation to entrepreneurship in the informal economy.
This award follows another successful PEDL grant application from Mirela and Shova in October 2014 and is testament to the growing expertise in entrepreneurship found in the Department of Business and Management.
