Accreditation

Our BSc in Accounting and Finance has achieved accreditation from the Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), giving our students a head start in their careers as qualified accountants by allowing them to achieve professional status faster. We are currently seeking accreditation for other courses.

ACCA logo

Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA)

The BSc in Accounting and Finance has been awarded a four paper accreditation from the ACCA. All students who sit and pass the core modules and also choose to study the optional module Law of Business Organisations will enjoy exemptions from the following ACCA papers:

  • F1 Accountant in Business
  • F2 Management Accounting
  • F3 Financial Accounting
  • F4 Corporate and Business Law

CIMA logoChartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

The BSc in Accounting and Finance has been awarded a five paper accreditation from CIMA. These exemptions can be used by students passing the core degree:

  • C01 Fundamentals of Management Accounting
  • C02 Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
  • C03 Fundamentals of Business Mathematics
  • P1 Management Accounting
  • F1 Financial Reporting and Taxation

ICAEW logoInstitute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)

The BSc in Accounting and Finance also enjoys a four paper accreditation from the ICAEW. All students who sit and achieve the grades given below will enjoy exemptions from the following ICAEW papers:

  • Accounting
    A minimum of 50% based on the 1st and 2nd year core Accounting Modules
  • Business and Finance
    Achieving Upper second or First degree with a mix of the core Accounting and Business Modules
  • Management Information
    A minimum of 50% based on 1st and 2nd year core Management Accounting Modules
  • Principles of Taxation
    A minimum of 50% based on Taxation (N1521)
  • Assurance
    A minimum of 50% based on Audit (N1516)

The specific modules that attract the awards from the ICAEW depend on the year that the module was studied and passed. For specific module details, please contact the Undergraduate Business and Management office:
